Trio trying for Kawasaki honours

With the announcement that 2010 marks the re-introduction of tarmac racing into the Team Green racing stable in the UK, the results so far have indeed been impressive.

An ownership and racing concept first launched in the UK and championed by legendary motocross and road racing guru, Alec Wright, the legacy of his vision burns brighter now than ever. And as a way of encouraging younger riders to take to two wheels, the recent raft of results have been most welcome.

Welsh rider Connor Walkley has impressed all who have seen him this year with a race winning tenacity and professionalism that has earned him support at various races from the official Kawasaki Motors UK motocross team, Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki.

Winning the recent round of the BYMX series on his KX250F, Connor left the Yorkshire track with a 30 point lead and two rounds to go in a confident mood.

Likewise, Kawasaki rider Lee Dunham was also KX250F mounted for his assault on the IMBA Championship. And, like Connor, the Tetbury rider leads his chosen Championship; but in his case by a massive 63 points and with just one round left to compete in.

On tarmac, Essex rider Danny Buchan has so far proved himself the most successful of the Team Green riders on the Junior Superstock 600 grid. Riding his MSS Colchester Kawasaki prepared Team Green Ninja ZX-6R, the 17 year old from Basildon had a fantastic weekend at Snetterton as part of the British Superbike Championship round staged at the fast Norfolk track. Winning his Saturday race, Buchan kept his head to earn more precious points the following day with a podium place and add a 100mph+ average lap of the circuit to his CV.

Walkley and Buchan have even more honours to compete for though, joining fellow official Team Green supported competitors this year vying for the Alec Wright memorial Trophy.

Inaugurated in 2010 and to be awarded annually henceforth, it will be presented to the rider that best exemplifies the Team Green spirit of dedicated competition and a professional approach to racing and presentation. And if current form is maintained, it looks as if it might just be a two horse race.
